Is anyone teaching in Zihua or Ixtapa or know of schools there?

There is a university there--can't remember its name but you can check out the Zihua community pages in Internet. I have seen a few little signs for English when I have been there, mostly private lessons. I go usually once a year for a week or 10 days and my concern would be--besides the fact that it's crawling with tourists (and Ixtapa is ALL tourists)--that it wouldn't be very inexpensive to live there.....

Thanks, Moonraven. The last thing we want to do is be stuck in a town that is crawling with tourists. It seems like a tourist/retirement community, but it certainly is beautiful. Maybe it is just somewhere to visit, rather than a good place to move for work.

Good thinking. The only reason I go there once a year is because an old boyfriend likes to go there (he speaks almost no Spanish) from the US and write songs. He appreciates chili dogs at Rick's....I rest my case. In general, places in Mexico with a lot of tourism are expensive, but salaries are almost inversely proportional to the cost of living.

There is almost nothin by way of English schools in Ixtapa. We sent a teacher there last year and she ended up opening her own school, but shut down 4 months late due to lack of demand for classes.

Acapulco might be easier, or if you don't mind inland, even Taxco has a few schools.
