I'm not but I do have an interview with them in February. I heard that the pay is based on the amount of lessons you teach. But you're expected to stay at work and do preparation, which is unpaid. Is that true? |

Amity has a base salary, and you can gain overtime pay there after...you will recieve a set number of lessons that you will teach each week. Prep time is not paid, but it is included in the 40hours that you are required to work... |

Oh ok! Thanks! That makes sense. And I assume you pay your first months rent and everything as soon as you get into your new apartment right? |

Amity covers all of the key money that you'd have to pay. You do pay your first month's rent, depending on when you training begins...you should be fine...first check comes on the 25th of that month and more than likely you won't have any other expenses such as phone/internet yet...take a while to get those things setup. |

Sweet! Thanks a lot! I know I didn't really have much to do with the original question, but hopefully I'll make it over there in May if they hire me in February! ^_^ Good luck to you!! |

Landlines can take a while, but you can set up your mobile as soon as you do your ARC registration and can walk away with your phone the same day.
And internet doesn't always take forever to set up either. I signed up for the net in my new apartment last Friday and they were saying how they could have it done in 3-4 days and yes you pay upfront for internet.
So you should definitely include these things in your initial expenditure budget or a mobile at the very least since they are vital to have. |
