Hey all!

Very exciting news for me! Just got an return e-mail from a school I applied to in Quito, Ecuador. The name of the school is Inlingua. Just wondering if any of you fine folks have heard of/worked for/know somebody who has some experience with this organization.

Also, does anybody have a link to a updated black/green listed schools?

Thanks so much!

Ian P

I know a couple of people who worked there until recently. They really liked it. The lessons are mostly prepared for you, there is a huge manual with all the material in, as Inlingua use their own materials. But from what I saw of it, it was well thought out and comprehensive. The pay isn't fantastic, but you can get very heavily subisdized Spanish lessons through them which help offset that, if you were planning to take lessons anyway.

Their administration seemed to be very efficient and organised, which is something of a rarity in Ecuador.

Good news, thanks HLJHLJ.

BocaNY - any particular reason I should stay away from Inlingua Ibarra? Did you have a bad experience with them. I am really interested in ANY information you may be able to share.

Thanks again!

Inlingua is a franchise operation, like most of the big chain schools. So the materials and basic structure of each Inlingua school are roughly the same. However, the way it's run and the overall atmosphere/ethos will vary tremendously; according to the personality, whims and business acumen of the owner. That's why you end up with such variable reviews for different schools, even though they all appear to be part of the same company.

Anybody have any idea of the kind of quesitons I can expect to be asked by the folks at Inlingua - besides the normal routine queries (Why would you make a good addition to our school/What drew you to teaching ESL)?
