I apologise if my post was offensive to the op.

Maybe you can apologise to cellphone salesman.

I only meant to point out that English for the tourism industry is ubiquitous here. If the intent is to just join the crowd then minimal hiring practices and contract offerings are fine. But if you have a special idea that sets you apart then you might consider an equally special contract and hiring drive.

Don't worry, no offense taken! I appreciate your opinions and points.

The course we are looking to run is not simply English for Tourism. It is a dual hospitality programme where graduates will get an accredited Australian diploma and a Vietnamese diploma. They will also have the option to do their final year in Australia to complete 6 months study/6 months paid internship. The English component is simply to supplement the hospitality study and enable the students to get through the English portion of the course.

At this stage I am just trying to get a better feel for the HR market and your opinions as people who are in the game are invaluable. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info!

I can't give away too much info about the school I am looking to work with as the deal is not quite sealed. All I will say for now is that I have researched them, visited them and have good recommendations from my contacts in HCM. They also have a history delivering international partnership programmes.

You say "For these part-timers, don't even worry about the work permits". Why do you say that? I have read on these and other forums that schools take the hit if teachers are caught working without work permits and we definitely don't want to take any risks.

Thanks again.

Sounds like one of the Airline Co.s or the Cruise Ship Co.s that seem to change contracts yearly. Be wary of these ruthless Corp.s as I've seen many come and go!

Supplemental income indicates that the Teacher already has a WP with somebody else and you trying to give them another would send up all kinds of red flags to the Agencies that issue the WP, possibly getting them in trouble with their primary school. In other words, don't make waves for a beneficial relationship UNLESS you are going to be the primary employer.

Thank you for the advice.
