AHEd owes me $4100 USD in unpaid salary and medical bills.
Recently I was in direct communication with the CEO of AHEd. He stated, ""We are no longer running the contract, the Saudis are."
No one is responding to e-mails or Skype calls in the HR department.
CONSIDER THIS COMPANY UNRELIABLE AND NOT SAFE TO WORK FOR.

Received a communication from the HR. She affirms the Saudis are in charge. Soonest I could expect money is mid-Feb..
Contact was established via cell phone.

What do you mean by "the Saudis are in charge"? Are they not always in charge? Isn't AHed just another in a long line of companies hired to find English teachers, get them over and settled, and then...

The parent Saudi Company took over the entire operation and manages it from day to day. AHEd has little to no function, including obtaining money.

The tragic part of this is that AHD is not held responsible for its duplicity and fraud. There really is nobody to report them to. The Better Business Bureau, for example, does not get involved in these kinds of cases.
Maybe you could contact your local representative.
These people need to be held accountable for their actions. |

I agree, there is very little which can be done in the USA. However, given the jurisdiction resides in the KSA, wonder what some irate letters to the Saudi Embassy would do?

That's a joke... right? All I would expect it to do would be to take up space in one of their trash cans.

VS,
I agree that normal measures of redress has been exhaused.
So now what? Unconventional tactics, perhaps.

| Letters to the Saudi Embassy are probably a waste of time. How about looking into filing a claim in small claims court against the individuals who recruited you in the US? |

Problem with legal action in the USA is the contracts were written and executed in the KSA under Saudi Law. Hence the Arabic copy of the contract.

There is no problem with legal action in the U.S. other than the issue of whether a particular defendant has the necessary "minimum contacts" needed for jurisdictional purposes, i.e., was the defendant recruiting individuals in the U.S.? A U.S. court can apply foreign law in a contract, subject to some reservations regarding conflicts of law.
If the issue is fraudulent misrepresentations by the recruiter, then the action would be in tort for fraud and U.S. law would apply. |
