I feel so bad, I didn't even see this until now!
Yea, pretty cold. If you're here, sorry for the belated warning. |

| Consider the city of Yangzhou, in Jiangsu Province. Yangzhou is a famous city of ancient China, today still prosperous without so much pollution and not far from Nanjing (1.5 hours by bus). |

Pretty much everybody know about the two major cities of China, but I'd imagine that it would be tough to get a job there that allows you to save cash due to the higher cost of living. Plus, the competition for those jobs are higher.

If your employer provides accommodation, I would disagree that Beijing is significantly more expensive than other big cities. What is more expensive? Sure, you'll be tempted to spend more, but that's a different matter entirely. |

Thanks, no problem. I heard it was minus 28 there the other day. I'm coming anyway, the term at Liaoning uni starts 7 March so by then it should be a balmy minus 7 ha ha.
I'm told both the uni and the accommodation have central heating until the govt turns it off at end of march so I'll survive.
I'm really looking forward to teaching Chinese students in China - at present I teach Chinese students in Australia.
Hoping to network with other teachers after I arrive. |
