|
|
I got the medical report form that my doctor in America has to fill out and it appears unlikely that I can get all of this done in time.
This is what it looks like:
Medical report form
Not sure what a doctor even writes down for half of those sections. I mean yes/no for all of the body parts? Does the doctor I take the medical exam with in America have to provide copies of the X-rays and ECG results?
Outlook not so good for me. |

I read somewhere someone got their doc to write Ok and Not medically necessary on a bunch of the "crazy" boxes and it worked for them.
It may also be worthwhile to work with a visa agent (the guys who stand in line for you) rather than trying to save the money and go directly to the consulate workers. I think the agent companies have strong working (read: greased) relationships with the consulate visa processors . |

Your home medical exam gets you here. Then when you arrive, you take another. No, you don't need to bring your X ray.
Mileage may vary. It's possible that you won't have to take another exam, though I doubt it. |

Yeah, I had the same issue before I came out here as well.... Don't stress about it, like other posters have stated just have your Dr. write O.K, N/A, N/N, etc. When I first brought my form to my Dr. in the States he laughed at me. |

Highly doubtful. I'm pretty sure you have to have the little red book. |

"The Quotations of Chairman Mao"! Whaddya think? Sorry, I couldn't resist.
When you get the physical here, you are issued what is called a "Health Card"; it's actually a red booklet about the size of a passport. |

Past experience shows that spending large sums on a medical check in your home county just drains your wallet and you still need to get one done in country. At home the cost was large - like $750 to get all those tests done - here it was about 350rmb.
If you can have it done in China as you will save much $$$ |

I was required to get a check for my last visa. Of course I still needed one in China. I also skipped the US x-ray. Try a doc-in-a-box clinic; as cheap as possible. They will probably have some idea what the form is asking for, or at least tell you they know. Make sure to get some kind of official stamp from the clinic and bring all paperwork and one copy to the consulate. |

My doctor laughed too. Then rolled his eyes. |

Someone mentioned $750 for the tests at home... hmm... I'm glad I live in a socialised medicine country! Walk into the docs office: Free, Blood tests: nominal charge of $15, X-Ray: free. I go to a rural boonies county hospital which due to the isolation, is better stocked and funded than many midsize township medical services.
I downloaded form Q2 from the NZ chinese embassy, Yep, pretty crazy, I think the only really important one from emailing the embassy medical staff, is the HIV/STD question, which gets you your Z visa approval, then the locals check you out in China to make sure you won't keel; over in front of the class to issue you the red book. The embassy doc didn't seem fussed about anything else. They just don't want infected chinese girls from scuzzy diseased laowais. |

Strive to eliminate multiple redundancies within written sentences! |
