Could someone who has applied for a work visa, please advise on the apostille?

From what I've read, the police clearance and the university diploma need the apostille, do these have to first be translated before getting the apostille?

thanks

Yes they do need to be translated first.Usually the embassy in your state will translate it for you. I had mine done in NY and they translated it and everything. So you should check with ur local embassy to see if they do.

A friend of mine needed a diploma/degree apostille. It was for ecuador apostille. He was in Ecuador, the only way he was able to get it done was sent it to an agency www.apostillepros.com that took care of the apostille as time was a factor. His parents were on vacation. He didn't need the translation, but the diploma/degree was sent directly to the agency in Ecuador. So check with your employer/work visa requirements.

Note: He also said, sometimes people don't have a degree or diploma in hand, what you have to do is get a Degree Verify Certificate. They accept those with the apostille (for temp).

I had copies of my certificates notarised and apostilled in the UK, and made my own DIY* translated copies here. They weren't notarised or certified in anyway and they were accepted but YMMV.

For certificates issued in the UK you can get them apostilled through the British Embassy (CELTA certificates have to be done through them as well). It takes nearly a month, and costs a little more than getting them done in the UK.The embasy will only apostille the original, but in the UK you can get a copy apostilled.

*It wasn't actually DIY, an Ecuadorian friend did it for me, as my Spanish is abysmal.
