Hey all!

I will be leaving the last week of March to start a teaching position in Quito, Ecuador. My housing hasn't been lined up quite yet, but my plan is to stay in a hostel for the first week while I am looking for a good place to rent.

Does anybody have any experience with the hostels in Quito? Any that you can recommend I check out? Or those I should stay away from?

I will probably be looking for housing in and around La Mariscal - so a hostel close to that area may be helpful. But, I am always open to suggestions, especially from those of you familiar with the area.

Thanks so much in advance for your help! While this is all very exciting there is still so much for me to do to prepare myself!

I think checking out the Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree Forum would be your best bet.
