Most Councillors are Brits (for obvious reasons) but I knew of at least one US teacher at BCHK, though he's moved on. NG your Korean uni deal is probably better than BC in some ways (certainly in terms of salary and holidays); on the other hand BC offers a choice of locations, better teaching support (I imagine) and maybe a better work-related social scene.

They also offer a fixed monthly contract, right? What about in the summer time - are you restricted to working in one of their camps? Or is that your time to work wherever you like?

The info so far has been really helpful. Cheers.

At BCHK (one of the biggest BC centres) a lot of the teachers are NOT on a fixed monthly salary - they work at an hourly rate. From what I gather, these "freelancers" make more than the fixed-income people in a good month but of course they don't get holiday pay or other perks. Not sure if all centres work the same tho.

I imagine summer camps are optional, as they are during what would be the long-ish summer hols. Presumably you make extra money if you opt to do them. Personally I'd take the hols ...

Right, take the hols, then do short camps and make more.

Er ... no! I mean take the hols, spend some of your hard-earned shekels and enjoy life. IMO those who choose to work all hours god sends are making a big mistake.
