I've heard they are starting a Foundations program - any news on what that will be like compared to the existing English jobs at AUS?

Hey anaxi...

I wondered how you were getting along when this thread came up. Laughing Glad that I didn't lead you astray and hope that you continue to enjoy it. I wonder when they stopped providing free sat TV. Perhaps some people wanted different Sat systems.

What do you mean by a "foundations program"? They already have an IEP program for entering students who require it before entering the Freshman courses. Or are they adding a program for students who are even lower than are normally accepted into their IEP?

The old IEP program is no more. Instead, it's been revamped into an "Achievement Academy" which is basically the old IEP in new dress, with most of the same IEP instructors on board. I've heard that the new program is more intensive than the old one, as far as contact hours go.

Ah the old reinvention of the TEFL/TESL wheel. I'm sure giving it a new name and making them sit in more hours of English classes every day will make all of them learn so much more... so much faster... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I couldn't find anything on the website what with not knowing the new and better name, but just found it. Seems to be pretty much the same program that they had before. (and that everyone else has... a couple levels of English, math, study skills, and TOEFL prep...)

So, my assumption that there won't be any flurry of new hiring is probably right.
