For you guys that've had some bad experiences with VN doctors, I'd recommend going to FV Hospital and insisting on seeing only French doctors.
While the VN doctors are a step above other VN doctors at FV Hospital, they still can't seem to overcome the guessing tendancy that is so prevalent in the VN medical feld. The French doctors will order testing to confirm their diagnosis. FV Hospital is more expensive than most other places but it's difficult to put a price on excellent healthcare.
But even the French have some tendancies that you wouldn't find in, say an American doctor, so being informed about the diagnosis is in your own best interest. Soooo, do the research! |

And for God's sake everyone, get insured if you're not already, or be prepared to pay through the nose at an international clinic or roll the dice at a local hospital.
I've gone from a guy who will soldier through anything rather than visit the doc, to someone who heads to the clinic at the first sign of a sniffle. I've been to the clinic a half dozen times over the last year and I haven't paid a cent for consults, treatment or prescriptions. This includes a bout of dengue fever (I agree that it's a very rough experience) and dose of the squirts so exhausting that I required an overnight stay on a drip.
With regards to dengue, I always have a chuckle when doctors tell me to "practice mosquito avoidance". When your blood is like caviar to mozzies, that's a lot easier said than done. |

Hey, Deadlift.
Did a forum search for medical insurance, but couldn't find anything. Do you have a recommendation? There are a tonne of online insurers who promise the world, but anyone who's ever had to make an insurance claim knows that the rosy picture you get when you're paying premiums is sometimes far removed from the reality of actually claiming. |

| I can't help you I'm sorry, as my insurance is provided by my employer. Right now I can't even recall the name of the provider. |
