I'm about to embark on an MA in Applied Linguistics, but can anyone tell me if they are really necessary to get good university teaching jobs in Turkey?

I do already have a BA in English Lit, an MA in Drama, and CELTA.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Lulu,

If you've already got an M.A., you'd arguably be much better served by getting the DELTA. Would also be cheaper and possibly quicker (although my DELTA took longer than my M.A.!)

yeah...I hear that DELTA has the practical component that the MA's don't. Over here in the Middle East (Oman, UAE) it's all about having the MA in Applied Linguistics, but as I would really like to live in Turkey after here, I don't that they value the MA Linguistics quite as much.
Thanks

I have heard that DELTA is credited as part of some modular MAs. You seem to have a lot of qualifications already. Why don't you go for a PhD?

yeah I know what you're saying...it's seeming more and more excessive (and pointless) to do another MA...
