Italian, Mexican, and Thai would be my top 3.

Having lived in a fair few countries around the world i only ever longed for Mexican cuisine while abroad. In my opinion the food here is more diverse than in most other countries. Also, the staple dishes are absolutely excellent.

Italian, Lebanese/Greek, Thai are probably my top three. Haven't found anything from any of these three here that come close to blowing me away unfortunately. Found a really fantastic Chinese place called "Rico Food" (seriously, that's the name). It's a block away from the corner of Coyocan and Conception Bestegui. You'll know it must be good when you walk in because the few times I've gone there at least half the patrons were Asian.

Freddy there is a place here in town called The Sports Authority that does pretty good fajitas but with corn tortillas, the only flour tortillas to be had around here are Tia Rosa. It's an American style sports bar complete with giant screens and a menu that is a sort of an "American food" sampler. A couple of Chinese dishes, a couple of Italian dishes, cheese steak sandwiches, hamburgers, steaks, potato skins, onion rings, fajitas, texmex style enchiladas, nachos, etc.

Freddy, by "here in town" I meant my town. Sorry.
I routinely make chili--not sure quite Texas style. But I like it! My recipe has slighly mexicanized over the years. I use three chiles guajillos, one pasilla and one costea.

I love simpler local stuff:

Green juice

Tejate

Tortillas hecho al mano

Mango with chili and lime (but only Tajin will do for my daughter)

Wild mushrooms during rainy season

Amaranth cakes

Hand-ground chocolate

Squash blossoms in soup and empanadas
