I would suggest a cab from the airport. It'll be more $ than a train ticket but it still not as bad as you would think and its very convienient. Taking a train when you can't read the language and are in culture shock and jet lagged may be very frustrating. But to your question, sorry I don't know the best way to get there from the airport.
Good luck getting any sleep if you're staying in Nana |

Yes, best way to go is taxi. Make sure that you look for the "Public Taxi" signs when leaving the airport. Get in the "Public Taxi" line, give the attendant your hotel's name and address, get a slip of paper from the attendant that guarantees your rate and sit back and enjoy the ride. Do not take any other taxi at the airport as you may be asking for trouble that will get you off to a very bad start in LOS.
Finally, be sure to check and make certain that you are exiting the taxi with all your bags and belongings when you arrive at your hotel.
Good luck with the course and the Big Mango! |

Unless you are a late night arrival, take the (new) red line to the end (it is a non-stop) and cab it from there to your hotel/rooming house (if you have one booked) or Nana station BTS.
It is not practical to train/transfer/train with luggage.
From Nana BTS it is a 2 minute walk into soi 8 (down the stairs, turn left, 50 meters, turn right into the soi) for an affordable, clean, quiet hotel (1000-1200 baht range) and a 7 minute walk to soi 4 (down, turn right, walk 250 meters, turn left) for your entertainment.

Thanks for the advice guys. On second thoughts, i think taking a taxi is probably a better option due to all the luggage i'll be carrying. I'll make sure i go to the right place, too.
Actually, my hotel is located in nana. I'm in two minds whether to stay there or go somewhere with less of the distractions so i can concentrate on my celta. What do you guys think? cheers. |

Depends on where in Nana you are staying.
If your hotel is in Soi 4 (to the west of Nana BTS) you won't get much work done (Nana entertainment center is there) along with ALL the distractions that come with it.
Go to Soi 8 (just the other side (east) of Nana BTS station) and it is far enough away that the distraction is minimized and yet you still have all the conveniences of the Nana street market and westernized restaurants (with English speaking waitresses and food you might recognize).
Move another BTS stop or 2 away (Asoke BTS) and there are some rooming houses (SV rooming house behind the Westin Hotel comes to mind) in Soi 15-19 that run about 800 per day (less for weekly and monthly) and they have decent wifi as well.
