All,

has anyone completed the CELTA course in either Kiev, Sevastopol or Minsk? I am leaning toward the Minsk program primarily. On the IH website for Minsk, they state that they can find a 1 room apt for 300 USD within 30 minutes of the testing centre. Does this sound correct? I was originally going to go back to Kazakhstan, but the IH charges 2000 USD for the course and an apt is upwards of 500+ per month.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for a CIS nation for the CELTA program?

Thanks,
tdk

Hi

I work at IH Minsk but not directly on the CELTA. I can vouch that the CELTA will be well run and professionally managed. They'll look after you at IH Minsk and help you find accommodation as well. If you need any more info then send me a PM.

Also, if you have some money, then Minsk is also a nice city to live in.

Man I'd hate to see a 'bad' city to live in if Minsk is a 'nice' one. My only other experience has been Hanoi Minsk is most certainly not as fun.

Well, Im visiting a colleague. Both of us miss the place and another expat we know likes it too. Maybe its personal taste or, assuming youre American (??), perhaps it depends on what part of the world you come from.

I'm from England. I don't think it's so much about the place where you're from. I guess I'm just fed up of the endless winter here.

But the endless winter isn't specific to Minsk. You'll feel that anywhere in eastern Europe.
