I might as well post a poll. If we consider Salaries, Lifestyle, Living Costs, Students, and School facilities. |

In terms of living and learning about people and getting your brain wacked by so many ideas and emotions, I'd say Vietnam. The money was good, the people were great and the quality of life and cost of living so fine. That being said, it is not a good place to begin your teaching career. Rather, it is a country you finally arrive in. If you are business minded and well-balanced with lots of common sense, do yourself a favor and spend some time there. |

would we not be including japan and korea in this category? is that not east asia? or do you keep them separate because they've been hot spots, so to speak, for so long? just wondering about taiwan too. i'll post this elsewhere to get exposure, but i was wondering about thailand as an option. is it full of backpackers willing to work for low wages? are there good opportunities for someone with a bit of experience, and some additional training beyond the BA level, but not a true teaching certificate or masters degree? any info on taiwan? pay? housing? lifestyle? i'm in korea, and the money's pretty good so far. also, the person who posted about vietnam being good from a business perspective? do you mean the school's pay well, or there are other "private" opportunities that abound? technically, teaching privately outside of your academy is illegal in korea....but..... |

There seems to be a problem with the voting polls. |

China and Vietnam are the places people are heading from Thailand and of course the old faves Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
Is there some reason the poll hasn't been fixed?? |

Trying to vote on this doesn't seem to be working.

It won't let me vote either, but I'd have to choose Indonesia too since it's the only place in Asia that I've taught. |

If there were jobs in PI I'd probably vote for it, but Vietnam works for me. |
