I have to say that when I read a post like this, I do NOT immediately assume that the problem is the manager.

I used to be a part of this forum but I found it frustrating to make commentary or offer advice when some teachers were so quick to jump on my grammar or word phraseology rather than getting at the substance. However, I decided to come back on the site because I've been on the sidelines reading what friends have said regarding ELS buraimi and its management with regards to my and others particular experiences. I stood by for 2 months attempting , unsuccessfully to appeal to the management from the top with Mr. MOD EDIT to the bottom with Mr. MOD EDIT at buraimi to return to me my university diploma. We agreed to have it returned via fedex along with the bill for the last months utilities as well as the cost of a book I misplaced. Instead it was sent oman post and never arrived. Now mr. saqar said in an email earlier this week they have retrieved the diploma and he would send it fedex , yet he hasent sent me a tracking number nor responded to my emails. he is being used by ELS management who for some odd reason wont return my diploma. This is theft. since you wont respond to my emails mr hassanoui or els buraimi then I am forced to make a public appeal on this venue.

All the poor management aside and all the rest of the rhetoric is irrelevant , have your lackeys who are monitoring this site explain to you my public appeal and I ask you be a professional and mail back my diploma. Honor your agreement and I will honor mine. 2 1/2 months is too long for me to wait. I'm tired of hearing your false promises. Embarassed

hmmm, so you do a runner, leave bills unpaid and forget to retrieve your documents because you wanted to slink away into the night. And so it's up to these guys to pay for a courier while hoping that you send the money owed back.....does that sound about right?

I can hear the violins tuning up for the lament.

eslbear - where did it say that fortch did a runner?

No one should ever have to ask for the return of their diploma irrespective of the circumstances.

Your tone is incredibly unpleasant.

First off... why would one ever give them original degrees. Never once in Egypt, Oman, the UAE or Kuwait, did my originals ever leave my possession. I would NEVER EVER hand them to any Middle East employer (or the rest of the world as far as that goes). It is too damn hard to get them replaced if they lose them.

You are right, sleepwalker, my tone was unpleasant, apologies.

But, notice the last four days, three new posters, all with a juicy rip on their former workplace. Unfortunately, I am somewhat "in the know" about these characters and their imaginary forum friends who have banded together out of solidarity to help the wider world. Well, my solidarity with the good people at Buraimi, past and present, compels me to counter act these shenanigans.

It's a hatchet job and not a very clever one. Disguised "voices" on the forum, fake profiles and horrible story to tell. It's a childish farce abusing the forum for petty spite.

For Mr. Fortch, he might stretch his patience a bit more as it seems it was only earlier in the week he was given the update. And the runner.....if you leave a job properly in Oman and probably everywhere else, it takes a month's notice, a settlement arrangement and a cancelled visa - not easy to leave unpaid bills behind, as well as your documents. So, it seems he "ran".

So, a bit more patience Fortch - maybe the staff there are busy with the latest demonstrations from students asking for no testing, easier workloads and free books! and can't jump to your demands. see the thread on Nizwa U....

How dare you lie about this! You know full well that I told the manager about my potentially leaving well in advance. I was awaiting a well paying job with a contractor. i told him i would have to leave immediately when my security clearance came through. You also know that I was still on a visitors VISA awaitng my original documents to be stamped by oman authorities. I sat down with the manager and discussed an arrangement which he agreed to: he would send me my diploma once he retreived it from authorities via FEDEX along with the bills for electricity and a book I misplaced. and then I would promptly pay it. he agreed to it. in fact i left many personal belongings for him and his family. after I arrived in kabul, i get an email from him saying he wanted me to send money to his wife's account and then he would send my diploma. what does that sound like to you? MOD EDIT was also aware of this arrangement.

This was not a runner and you know it. In fact the evening i received notice of the clearance i let the manager know and then the morning of departure i went to his house to notify him and to give him the address to mail my document.

You are complicit in the crime. holding my diploma for ransom. and yes VS, we were requested to give originals since i was already in country.

and then you say he might be busy? these student protests werent going on 2 months ago. he deliberately delayed because i told MOD EDIT that it was strange he was holding my diploma for ransom and then wanted me to send a rounded up figure to his wifes account. when i finally did get the bills scanned and sent to me the bill he quoted was much higher of course. over the past month i've heard from mr saqar , I will get your diploma and send it to and nothing materialized.

ESlbear, you are trying very deceptively to cover up the truth? perhaps you should just send the diploma and you will hear from me no more!

sound good? Rolling Eyes

bear says its a runner for 2 reasons.
1. he was lied to by the manager
2. he works at UofB and wont admit it and he let his knowledge slip

dont be surprised if this thread is pulled. Embarassed
