I doubt it. If you have been to Russia, lived abroad, or speak Russian- these things, I would think would help you. Because so many teachers are unreliable, these are all factors that would help you adjust much more comfortably and would seem to make it more likely that you will stick around. That being said, I am not convinced that the McSchools do not like it when teachers break contract. They definitely want good quality teachers, but as long as they can always fill the teaching needs, they save a lot of money when a teacher flees!
That being said, I have been surprised to find that it seems Russians are more interested in my Russian heritage than people in the states. In the states my great-grandpa was Russian, no one cares. Here, to some people (surprisingly) that makes me Russian! |

Does your 'half-Russian heritage' include Russian citizenship? If youre not sure, you may want to absolutely confirm that you dont have Russian citizenship by descent. I assume you were not born in Russia? If it is determined that you are in fact a Russian citizen, you will have to enter/leave Russia on a Russian passport and are subject to the same laws that apply to all Russians. That could include going on extended camping trips with the Red Army if you are male. |
