Hi,

I am looking for a short term gig in a major city. Guangdong province would be ideal, Shenzhen, Guangzhou. I'm a registered teacher. I have tried heaps of recruiters but it appears they don't want to work as they never reply.
I have also researched Google.com for work in certain cities and again it appears recruiters are at the mantle, and again I have tried them and I get no reply.
So I am posting here directly and requesting if anyone in the major cities has a good teaching gig and the school needs another teacher.
I won't teach Kinder or Elementary. I am trained to instruct older learners. Thanks in advance.

Have a look at:

I've only heard good reports although 6m might be too temp for them.
Best

Thanks for the reply non sequitur. But I must say after browsing the China job boards that the situation in China must be a farce for EFL teachers. I am registered with three major recruiters and not one has offered me a job. Considering too as they say: ''There are thousands of jobs waiting for you".
What a joke.

There are many factors at play here, but if I was a gambling man I'd say that the "short-term" might be scaring schools off. Schools want long-term teachers.

You might want to take a one-year contract with an easy escape clause, and then after 3 months give them 3 months' notice, which is more than long enough to find a new teacher).

OP
You have entered the market with a serious handicap which is your 6m requirement. To attribute lack of offers to a fault with the Chinese system is a bit rich.
You can go the Great Wall of Whiner route and that's up to you. By doing so you perpetuate the idea of the itinerant backpacker teacher who cannot be relied on. This is an image we should be trying to shake off.
