a bit too one-dimensional, though...if anything, the weather here is actually very nice from the middle of October until the middle May. If you're acclimated to the heat, that is.

I think the article is spot-on, except for maybe being a bit too generous in its descriptions of the Emiratis and the "white mercenary workers who come here for tax-free salaries to do managerial and entrepreneurial jobs, parasites and sycophants for cash."

IMO the Gulf has some of the most beautiful weather in the world for the "winter" though I would shorten the months. I'd put it from mid-November through mid-April. To enjoy October or May, you do need to be acclimated... actually May is one of the hottest months of the year historically. Laughing

But this article wanted to make sure that it had nothing positive to say about anything. Not that I don't agree with most of it. It describes why I never liked Dubai even when back in the early 90's before it had gone completely Arab Disneyland/Las Vegas...
