Hi, I am new to this forum, so my apologies if I am asking a question that has been asked many times before. Anyway, I am going to graduate soon and I am currently looking for any teaching job possibilities in Shenzhen. However, a lot of the jobs that are on offer seem to have lots of negative feedback. Does anyone have any suggestions for any good schools / companies in Shenzhen?

I have worked at Victoria in Shenzhen for 3 years and never had any major problems. Its by no means perfect, but its one of the best schools I have worked at in Asia.
Google Victoria Kindergarten Shenzhen and you should find the website.

I have had friends who work at Wall Street and that seems okay too!

I've also heard positive things about the International Children's Club in Futian.

Wow, thanks! I have been looking around at jobs in Shenzhen, but everywhere I went it seemed there was always some seriously negative feedback relating to that school or recruitment company.

Thanks again, this is a big help.

I know a lot of teachers who are happy in Shenzhen teaching. I know some who are happy at Web English also.

Tons of ESL teaching work in Shenzhen from Kindy to Uni, business is booming and more and more foreigners are living and working here. Hong Kong makes it easy to extend tourist visas, which makes it easier for folks to move or relocate here without a job lined up and then hunt down a good gig with a Z after they arrive.

Yes, tons of ESL jobs here in Shenzhen. Wall Street and most other language schools hire year-round.

Is it legal to look for work on a Tourist visa since it's not exactly a normal sightseeing activity?

Do you think it's easier to find a good job by coming on a tourist visa to Shenzhen or lining something up from outside China?

Thanks Smile

I think you can start working on a tourist visa if the school is applying for your work permit and has all the paperwork started. Im not entirely sure though.

There are plenty of jobs here, so if you came over without one you would most likely find one easy enough.

But... I know there have been a few problems with getting Z visas in Hong Kong over the last couple of months. One teacher was told that procedure has changed and that she had to fly home to get her Z as it was her first one.
Some of our school board (in HK) say thats not true. but thats all we have heard from the visa people...

If you can find a decent job and get your Z visa before you come it might be easier!

Thanks sister_sunshine Cool

Though I actually meant 'looking' for work before having a job?

Once you get a job and invitation, I imagine you might leave the country and reenter with z-visa. I'm talking about arriving with a tourist visa and looking for job.

Don't see how there could possibly be anything wrong with looking for work as a tourist.
