I hope someone can provide me with some info. I am an American who has a very good job opportunity. The problem is that to aid the prospective employer's background investigation, they want me to get a police clearance certificate from Kuwait to verify that I wasn't arrested while teaching in Kuwait. Can anyone provide info on the fastest way to do this? Should I contact the Kuwait police directly or would it be faster to contact the Embassy of Kuwait. Any contact information, advice, or any knowledge about the cost would be very helpful. I don't plan on returning to Kuwait anytime soon, so getting it done in person is not a possibility. A reminder to others that this is the sort of thing easier done in person - before you leave.

Doing such a thing would never have occurred to me, nor was such a thing ever requested.

I suspect that your only option is the embassies... not that they are likely all that helpful.

It will be almost impossible to get this done unless you know someone still living here who has got some wasta. The certificate will only state the last 6 months you were here anyway - they won't do it for the entire time you lived here. Did you really think someone would answer the phone at a Kuwaiti police station? The cops don't do it anyway - it's done through the big office out on the 6th ring road behind Sears.
