I'm a Don.
Which reminds me, I'd rather work for Tony Soprano ANY DAY than those knucklehead supervisors at HCT. With Tony, you know where you stand. No BS. Go behind the backs of the rank and file to back-stab and take away their livelihood, TS could very well order you whacked. Bada bing, bada boom. End of story. Business continues and we all get rich. |

Mayanga's a big girl and can take care of herself, Ann Landers.
Meyanga may well be big girl, but believe me, she needs all the help she can get!
We women have to stick together here.
Not just here..everywhere!
Ooh! The question is...just how close together?
So I am berated for my bad spelling, having a useless PhD and the audacity to stand up for myself when I don't think the comments are fair....but you get away with this!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you Ann????????
Oh... you are a naughty boy!!
Oh! There you are...having a day off???
I'm a Don.
GoD! Someone tell me how to use these quotes!

OK... Ann is here with advice on making quotes. There are two ways. In the top of each message that you wish to quote there is a button that says... quote. If you use this, you can delete what you wish but need to keep the code within [these brackets]. This system identifies who you are quoting, but gets a bit complicated if you want to quote more than one person.
The second way is using the "Post a reply" box which also has a "quote" button. To use this, you just copy from any message... paste in your reply box... highlight it... and hit "quote." This method doesn't identify who you are quoting.
There will be a quiz first thing Monday morning just after attendance. Don't be late!!

I'm never among those who berate PhDs. I was in a PhD program at the University of Virginia once. Now I'll let you all speculate wildly as to why I never finished. (hint: it wasn't because I thought it was piled high and deep).
Don't care? OK, I'll make it multiple choice so at least you don't have to brainstorm. This particular exam question assumes the form of Dave's Top Ten Reasons I Never Finished my UVa Doctorate:
[drum roll] Number 10: I knocked up one of my freshman groupies.
Number 9: Fell in love with the Provost's daughter.
Number 8: Knocked up the Rector's wife--or was it (b) above? I forget.
Number 7: Peed on Edgar Allan Poe's dorm room wall at the Academical Village
Number 6: Told a visiting lecturer that Thomas Jefferson was the main character in a really bad 1970s sitcom
Number 5: Lied on the admissions application form when I said I came from da hood, yoh, to introduce more diversity to the student body
Number 4: Failed to buy Microsoft stock in order to pay the tuition some day
Number 3: Decided I really belonged at some fourth-rate state U in Illinois to get an EFL master's
Number 2: Was seen fraternizing with an instructor from Charlottesville Community College
..and the number-one reason I never finished the UVa doctorate:
I never found the right classroom building |

I pick number 4
...or possibly number 3, but you didn't mention what the PhD was in... as I recall you had a Fellowship for a freebie MA?
in other word... the fulus...

Indeed, ma'am, I had teaching and admin assistantships for both master's, a full ride. The UVa program was in Higher Education Administration.
Reason #4 precipitated #3. Basically. And Edgar Allan Poe's ghost was very pissed. |

There is a thread on the General ME Forum asking about these programs. Perhaps you could give them a hint on how to find the US programs.

Indeed, suh, ah must concede the accuracy of your riposte. To cite a parable, did you know I am by blood a 1/4 member of the Native American Fugawe tribe? Never heard of them? Understandable, suh, most understandable. Back in the 1880s they got lost wandering around the Arizona desert saying "Where dafugawe?" |
