How should I work with a surgeon with limited English? He is working at a fast food restaurant in the US now. I have found that Australia fast tracks doctors and nurses but requires Ielts or Oet, which he is not ready for, and could not afford to travel and retake in any event. I know that lots of doctors and nurses get Canadian residency, but go on to drive taxis. And I think that in the US, you similarly have to repeat your degree if you want to practice medicine. I don't know whether to just prepare him for Ielts or steer him to another country or to a university for further studies. I also thought of setting him up as a UN volunteer doc, as he speaks Arabic, which might lead to professional position or subsidised education.
Would he need Ielts before Mcat? |
