Unschooling? Confused Sounds dangerous for teachers.

Our daughter has a number of Japanese and English speaking playmates. My wife and I speak English wither her, with some Japanese. She knows the difference between the two languages, which is something that has really surprised me. We don't have any extra help here, wages are sky high and there is no such thing as babysitters in Japan, it's called in-laws which we have none of here. We've had friends look after her a couple of times in the 2 years we've lived here. Fortunately I have lots of time off and 4-5 months of holidays/yr, so I can spend a lot of time with my family. Really it's the best thing about living here. I could never spend half that amount of time with them back in Canada.

Be like the Jehovah Witnesses ? Refuse kids blood transfusions becaase of some strange misreading of Holy Scripture ?

I can't see how refusing vaccinations is any different.

In a civilised society you people would be behind bars.

Maybe you should be back in the land of the real religious nuts - Texas !

Unschooling isn't as ominous as it sounds! Check out these sites:

From those links, it sounds like unschooling is the homeschool equivelant of democratic schools.
