Those of you who are long timers will no doubt remember the formerly frequent poster, dmb.

He hadn't posted here for the last two years, but had been a busy contributor to the Turkey and ME forums prior to that.

Sadly, he has passed away.

Very sad to hear this -I knew him from the EC -a really nice guy with real passion and enthusiam for his job. He will be missed by many.

Oh that is sad! I knew him in Istanbul and we used to go for beers. I was wondering where he had disappeared to. How sad!

I worked with dmb in Qatar many years ago.

He was genuine, down-to-earth and sincere about his job.

For that, and many other reasons, he stood out.

We've lost one of the good guys.
