				| In ESL applications, is it standard to call the school/organization you have applied to to confirm receipt of emailed documents? Or are applications and responses done completely by email? | |

				| General question and may depend on the country and type of job. I'd say few people call (or otherwise contact) to ask if their materials have arrived.
Most contact nowadays is by email. Not all, though. All of my university application responses were by postal mail, mostly because they sent back my application materials at the same time.

				| I follow up with something like "just checking to see if you got my CV. I'm attaching another copy in case the first got lost in the shuffle"

				| In an increasing number of places you won't get any response unless you are called for interview. I often see ads which say "Candidates not contacted within x weeks may consider their applications unsuccessful." | |

				| I've called a week or 10 days after sending my documents by e-mail to inquire if they've been received for two reasons...it demonstrates my continued interest in the job prospect and I know for certain that a lack of contact is a sign of disinterest. IMHO, if you e-mail an inquiry, it will likely get lost in the shuffle and you could be no better off. | |

				| Don't send another copy of your materials. Too confusing and could be deemed as pushy. Some employers get scores of applicants and have a hard time sifting through them just to get a first cut. | |
