I will be travelling down to Panama in the next few weeks to look for ESL job positions. Anyone in Panama that can offer me some help or guidance?

| They're used to be a user with the name of panamapirate, or something like that. But I don't think he's on the baords anymore. From what I understand, it's hard to work there and doesn't draw as many TEFLers as say, Mexico. |

Unless you find someone willing to sponsor you for a work permit, play tourist and enjoy yourself, but the Immigration Police have arrest powers, badges and *gasp* guns!
Work permits are obtained by employers; the foreigner may not enter the country while it is 'in process', which takes months.
If you are caught, the fine is $1,000USD+, up to a year in jail and deportation for 15 years. The school is also fined.
You have been warned. |
