These sort of reactions and questions will turn off an employer right away. Keep that in mind.
A little about the rooms are here in wikipedia:

Here is a little blurb, too, with a slide show narrated by an American.

Glenski,
It looks like the links you provided are for students (International) attending that university and not the faculty housing.
It's interesting there seems to be no firsthand information about this job from current or former employees even though it made the Debito Blacklist. |

Links are not for teacher housing. Also, I've been around long enough and don't need you to remind me to keep anything in mind.
If you want to hike it up a hill for 20 minutes in the stinking humid hot summer of Japan - go for it! |

MOD EDIT
As for the crummy links, at least I tried. Not even a thanks for the effort? |

I was simply pointing out that the links from Glenski did not seem to be for faculty housing but rather for students. Nothing malicious on my part.
Shimokitazawa, from what was posted previously it seems as though the job at this particular university has housing provided on campus so a commute from Osaka would not be necessary. However who would want to have their housing tied to tight to their employer, right? |

I agree, Caliroll, rule number one is to not have your housing tied to your employer. |

My post was meant for Shimokitazawa and Vaqueiro. No offense was intended towards you.
Too bad the OP who revived this 3-year-old thread has not come back... |

Fair enough, Glenski. Thanks for the comments, everyone.
According to a couple of PMs I received, the housing is modern and spacious - enough, according to one poster, to house a family of three comfortably. At this point, I have not been able to solve the "how steep is the hill" issue, but for me, that is a negligible point compared to housing, teaching conditions, and salary. For a teacher seeking a first Japanese uni gig, KG seems to be fine in all three of these areas.
I submitted my CV in April and was notified of my shortlisted status at the beginning of May. At this point, I am finalizing the application packet. Will update as necessary. |

I too was looking into a job there, but the housing seemed a little off-putting.
