|
hi guys, i am looking at teaching in japan soon
i was wondering what the income tax rate is in japan (the company offered- salary vs the actual amount you get)
some sites say 7% and some say 20%...
so i am confused...
or does it depend on how many years you have been working in japan?
please help
thank you so much in advance!
---
and... roughly, how much % of your salary do you get back from your tax return? thanks guys! |

They might, if you give them enough time to answer!
I think it varies betweeen 5% and 10%, depending on how much you earn
and whether or not you're self-employed. |

If I remember correctly, the 20% figure is for WHV holders. |

As far as I know (and I'm not a pro), this should be close:
Income Tax is 5%
Local tax is based on your salary and is typically 3-5% based on an eikaiwa salary (also, you don't need to pay this tax your first year)
Also, you need to pay insurance.
Consumption tax is also 5% |
