Dear Gordon,
That's just AA, Gordon. AAAL is the American Association for Applied Linguistics. Their meetings begin:

Hi, my name is ______ and I'm an Applied Linguist.

http://www.aaal.org/

Regards,
John

You shouldn't apologize Denise, I hijacked it.

Now I think I'll go out and commit sepuku with my new swords I got in Himeji last week.

So what makes one an applied linguist, someone who can talk?
There I've gone and hijacked it again.

The original post was edited. I fear I hurt his/her feelings. Maybe truth isn't the only thing that hurts.
