Is there some website that offers something similar for HCMC that The New Hanoian offers for HN? The New Hanoian always has a rich offering of job opportunities for ESL teachers. Also is the job market currently stronger in HN? |

In short, no.
The counter-part to the New Hanoian for Saigon is very slow with low hits. It could grow someday however. |

I agree with just noel. Daves is actually the best website, as far as I am aware, for Saigon TEFLers. To know what is going around town, "The Word" magazine is pretty good and can be found in many HCMC expat restaurants, cafes etc. They also have a website:
http://www.wordhcmc.com/
There is also a classified section in "The Word" which advertises jobs, but, every time I've looked at it, you mainly hear just from the large schools. In regards to whether Hanoi or HCMC is better in terms of employment - I wouldn't have a clue (perhaps other posters can comment on this). Having said that, there seems to be plenty of opportunities in both cities and if you present reasonably well, are not too fussy and prepared to knock on doors than you should get work. |
