Yes salary is low. Assumption is a private uni am I correct? Salary at government unis is about 28k. OT rate is OK but for Bkk (and private) I would have thought a little more.

You could check out Ramkhamhaeng University's Institute of International Studies. I believe they pay the same, but also offer flight and accommodation as well.

Yeah. There's no sense working there unless you're retired and just want to keep a bit busy.

Which pretty much sums up the employment situation in Thailand.

Correction:

12 teaching hours.Total 30 hours/week that you must clock in!

No support on arrival which means you are pretty much on your own once you land at Suvarnabhumi airpot.

The job will probably be easy, but the salary seems too low to secure a decent living standard in Bangkok. Even the OT rate is low (should be at least 500 baht/hour).

Seriously?! Shocked

That seems incredibly low for a university, especially in BKK!

It's par for the course and what Thai 'universities' have been offering for 20 years or so. They are not going to increase their farang salaries this side of Armageddon, either.

You'd live like a peon on that if you didn't have an alternative source of funds. Don't give them the satisfaction.

Assumption University and Assumption College are different institutions unless they have recently merged.

They have not merged and you are correct. What they have in common though is they are both part of the St. Gabriel s Foundation.
