Charlie Sheen is an enormously talented actor.
It is sad that he has degenerated into drug abuse, alcoholism, assault, crazy rants and conspiracy kookiness.

Dear John,
Not superhuman at all; it is pretty clear to see who was violating the TOS (although I'll grant that you may not have done it single-handedly).

You mean like WMDs in Iraq, Iran-Contra, the Gulf of Tonkin, etc.? Oh yes, absolutely agreed. |

Dear Kornan DeKobb,
Alas - it is not so "pretty clear" to me. Would you mind pointing out my violations?

^ Let's just say that the violations relate to addressing the poster rather than the post, aka "shooting the messenger" and/or "ad hominem." |

Well, thanks Sasha - but Mr. DeKobb may have a point. I did refer to those who promulgate certain theories as "crazy." On the other hand, I also mentioned that we are ALL crazy in our own ways (including myself.)
The problem is that it's very difficult to separate one's ideas from oneself.
Or, as W.B. Yeats so beautifully put it:
"Labour is blossoming or dancing where
The body is not bruised to pleasure soul.
Nor beauty born out of its own despair,
Nor blear-eyed wisdom out of midnight oil.
O chestnut-tree, great-rooted blossomer,
Are you the leaf, the blossom or the bole?
O body swayed to music, O brightening glance,
How can we know the dancer from the dance?"
Regards,
John |

Thinking someone couldn't so blatantly steal from you as they walk away with your money is a bit more ridiculous than knowing people want to steal your money.
Lies work the same way. The bigger the lie the more people accept it. Especially when it comes from the Pres./PM, other country's leaders, and the media.
As far as Sheen being an anti-semite, when did that happen? |

It happened when Sheen denounced and insulted the show's creator (who is Jewish).

But of course, that was not all: responding to a comment about this forum,

Unfortunately, clap-trap abounds. |
Also, instead of addressing the thread topic, you made entire posts exclusively talking about "crazy people," used mockery, or derailed the thread by making completely off-topic posts.
The latter might be more appropriate on the individual countries' fora where people may be stuck in some isolated backwater where Dave's may serve as a needed outlet, but I maintain that CE is different. It should be a place for more serious discussion of recent goings-on.
If one cannot follow the TOS (and this is a general comment), sanctions will be likely. |

It happened when Sheen personally attacked the show's creator (who is Jewish).

You make it sound like he physically assaulted the man, when he merely criticized him in an interview. That that would constitute anti-Semitism is quite a stretch. Jews criticize other Jews all the time. Does that make them anti-Semites too? |

I agree completely - unfortunately, by using the word "serious," you indict so many other posts on that thread.
"If one cannot follow the TOS (and this is a general comment), sanctions will be likely."
Again, I agree completely - and I'm so glad that you made it a "general comment" since, otherwise, that might leave the impression that you were
directing that comment at me.
Oh, wait - but all my comments were "general" ones, too.
Regards,
John |

Mr. KK: Those were the 'official fictions' you excoriated above. The wild fictions I mentioned are (for those who've read the thread) even far less supported by any real evidence or even logic.
Generally, speaking, of course. |

Sheen denounced the show's creator as "Chaim Levine". This is odd. His real name is Charles Levine.
Sheen even called him "Haim". This could be construed as "Hymie", which is a derogatory term for Jews.

Good. I'm glad we could generally agree.

Are you sure his name is not Chaim? Have you seen his birth certificate?

Do you know how Chaim is pronounced?

It "could be construed"? Like I said, a stretch. |
