As you know they have changed their recruitment process. You will be first placed on their talent pool and will then be interviewed. How long will it take after you pass the interview to receive an offer? I am aware of the fact that you might not receive an offer, but for those who have received their offers how long did it take?

From now to infinity? Cool I don't believe the system has changed much. It has long been if you pass the first hurdle of CV passing review for credentials, you get interviewed. Then you go into the pool for any college that needs a teacher with your skills.

It is hard for us to even guess with content teachers. In TEFL there are always lots of openings and lots of hires, so the process tends to be short. But I know teachers who got immediate offers... and people here have reported hearing months after the interview.

From the time they received my CV, to the time I was in the classroom was less than a week.

HCT are having real trouble recruiting teachers this year, mostly because of the large volume of bad publicity about them available on the web. Just google 'hct sucks' or 'adw camp' if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

As a result, they are STILL advertising for August hires, less than three months before the start date - something which is extremely rare, and even puzzling, especially when taken into account that they have received much fewer student applications for the coming academic year.

Clearly there are a LOT of teachers leaving this year, which would account for the late recruitment drive.

Whether some of those teachers actually KNOW that they are leaving at the end of this academic year is not so clear.

Remember - be VERY wary of working at HCT!!

I wouldn't look askance at some of the campuses such as DWC if I could report directly to the Director and not be meddled with and harassed by those preposterous supervisors or deans or whatever they're called now. Deans, indeed--they wouldn't make Dean of a Ding-a-Ling ice cream truck in the States.

"Dean" sounds prestigious...my last "Dean" was/is a lap-dog, something that the VC was grateful for.
