[quote]I don't know what planet you're from, but about the only way teenagers are going to fit your little fantasy profile would be if they were in a coma. I have several friends in their teens, and I work with several more. I'll have to tell them about you. You're so old. The teenagers I know have a much better grip on reality than you seem to

OK, I really don't think you should be questioning my grip on reality. I am finding it very difficult to find the link between my post and yours, or are you quoting me by mistake?

btw, this is not my "fantasy profile" of a teenager - I have enough teenage students and siblings, that I'm all too equated with the "reality". Adults shouldn't go out with teenagers, especially if they are teaching them, period.

If it's meant to be, it can happen a few years down the line.....

Welluntil now I thought I was content in an eleven-year relationship...I had no idea...I mean, yes, I think that's just the trick. Get that old self-esteem UP after the white-male bashing I've had to endure in academia. I like the way those words roll out..."admiration, respect and reverence..." And you say these female students all look like Kobe Tai?

What Caucasoid he-guy between the age of 6 and 106 wouldnt want that?
Make mine a Michelob. Well...er...a 33...a Tsingtao...or a Lao...

Is there anything wrong in dating your students? I think there is. If there isn't a law in place for it though, people will do it anywayz. Especially if they are in thier horney 20's.....and their students are the same age Cool

It would be imposible to stop it, short of military force, simply because it is popular to date foreign guys, and for these guys to date foreign girls.

Many young guys go to Asia to teach ONLY to date girls...sad but very true.

How is dating a 17 year-old girl being a pedophile?

You missed the whole point.

Thanks, Clancy, for that timely reminder. The next time I leave home without my superego, can I borrow yours?

His point is that most 17-year olds are still giggly immature teenagers.
Wouldn't you rather date a woman?

Instead of molesting a child?

I feel so foolish for having endured all of those decades of experiences and character development in order evolve my own set of values when all I had to do was ask the resident self-appointed, amateur judges at Daves Smile

Child molesters are pretty bad, but self-righteous, judgemental, conformity enforcers aren't far behind. Fortunately people have to live the lives that they have made for themselves. Have fun Smile

After all, when we're laying on our respective death-beds it will be our failure to conform to the dogmatic morality of strangers that we will regret the most, right?

I don't know if it'll prove to be the same for you, but one thing I've noticed is that, personally at least, evolution tends to be an on-going process.

Regards,
John

A co-worker of mine dated one of her students.

They were married on a sunlit autumn afternoon in Tokyo.

Tut-tut.
