Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone is out in Central/South America or Caribbean (any Spanish-speaking countries) teaching English?
I'm looking for a reliable place to teach. I'm willing to pay for airfare but I would like a small monthly stipend to survive on, room, and if possible meals. I've been researching for months, but all the programs I've seen online are either real sketch or money-sucking voluntourism groups.
I just graduated college, basically penniless but am trying to make the most of it before heading back into more higher education and the work force.
Any information would be helpful
Thanks! |

There is already a wealth of information in these forums. For Central/South America, there are individual country forums for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Peru as well as this Mexico forum, and there is also the general Latin American forum http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewforum.php?f=33 for all other countries and for questions that apply to teaching English in Latin America in general.
This forum and the other Latin American forums contain many threads by people asking the same question you have just asked, and many answers have been given to questions about the chances of getting a job, where and how to look for a job, what qualifications you need, visa requirements, finding a place to live, how much money you can expect to earn, and how much money to bring.
Have a look through the forums, and the information there will probably stimulate more questions, which you can then bring back here where people who've been through it can answer them. |

Thank you.
My primary concern is not a high compensation for working or teaching in any Latin American country; but I wanted to know if anyone could refer me to specific organizations or institutions that they are currently or have worked at.
It seems like a wealth of information is out there but not many people who have work in any specific place... |
