Hey.

Not to curse my chances, but I think I've got myself a nice job out that way - but no accommodation.

Does anyone live out that way, what's it like, how is the shopping, transport, accommodation and scenery??

south of the lake there's plenty of nongmin who might rent u a room for cheap, otherwise you could get a place near shuguang lu which is the best access road onto the lake with the best local living facilities. i'd avoid the nanshan lu area, it's like Beverly hills down there, might be out of your price range

not too sure where they are,

how much are u willing to spend?
there's some residential areas that were given as compensation to farmers
who lost their land, you'll get a big room with bathroom for about 1000
in one of those.
Then theres the older apartment buildings which will set u back 1500 to 3000
depending on how close they are to the city centre
and new apartment buildings anywhere from 3000 up depending on location again

You'll notice Xihu to the S, with Zhejiang University on it's N-W banks, Zhejiang Business College further N of Xihu, and Zhejiang University of Technology further (off the map) to the NE of Xihu.

All of those are in the area of ShangCheng, Gongshu, Xiacheng, etc... far to the west of the city centre (so I've been informed!)

Of course, if you're not familiar with that area... cool Smile
