Hi I have had an offer for Shane English through an agency. She has passed me on to Tony shanezhaopin (Aile Education Group) is he another agency? He has a blog that says he works for Shane, however the website is different is this a scam? The School is in Dongying, but there are two sites for the same school.

Hi

I was talking to Tony as well, however it was for a position in Zibo. Tony works for Shane, he is not part of an agency. I was speaking to an American who works for Shane in Zibo, and he said he likes the school and they treat him well, but to make sure that you get a Z visa, as he did not and it was hassle to get changed (had to go to Hong Kong). Tony mentioned Shane has about 30 foreign teachers in Dongying. Ask him to pass along the skype information of other teachers at the school - that's what I did and he gladly connected me.

xjgirl...
I don't know anything about Shane's...
But I've been all over the East coast, and I think Zhangdian, Zibo has to be one of the greatest cities to live in... Cost of living is phenomenal, it's relatively small but has everything the big cities have.. Hub to all travel NEWS.. Weather is pretty moderate all year round.. Hardly any English here so it's a great place to work on your oral Chinese - and those that do speak English are incredibly friendly.
Enough foreigners here to make friends if you want..

Zhangdian is great.

I mean, if it has everything big cities has, it must have a subway right?
Or a Metro Supermarket? Or a western-run 5 star hotel?

i doubt it

To say Shandong's climate is moderate is taking the piss
there's no heating in the apartments but yet it gets down to minus 15 celsius.

I agree about the part of it being cheap, and friendly people with nice standard Chinese for the most part, so yeah if you're a young guy
whose main goal is to study Chinese and have a good time in a very Chinese town then go for it

Sure, I suppose there could be more than one Zibo, but it's not too difficult to know that it is in Shandong province. I take a train there and through there often.
