Does anyone use a Kindle in KSA? Did you have to register it in outside country first?

Thanks.

Not specific to KSA, but you may need to verify your 'home' address to Amazon if you are planning to remain abroad long-term.

When I registered as a new Canadian user, but started downloading stuff in Europe, Amazon temporarily closed my account until I verified my origins. They actually sent me a request for a scanned photo of my passport front page (I didn't comply with this!!).

Apparently, so long as your credit card billing address is the same as the country where you are downloading stuff, you're ok. If there is a discrepancy there, Amazon may want some proof of your home address.

I downloaded the Kindle app for my iPad before arriving in the Kingdom and had no problem accessing it from the Kingdom. It definitely added to my quality of life. English language books are available at Jareer and other bookstores, but it was nice to have a larger selection. I was able to download any book available in my region, which was listed as Canada, as I would anywhere else in the world. The only thing that slowed me down was the internet connection Smile
