Have any of you ever seen this place? Yesterday a Taiwanese friend took me here. Da Xin Shan Si is a wonderfully spacious and immaculate looking Buddhist temple and this set in the hills of Jo Wae Shan(?) It's just superb, has a lot of merit to it and great praise to the people who run this facility. You can also buy Zhang Mu You, which is a sort of fragrant pine oil and repels mosquitos. Yet last night I applied it to my hands and arms but the buggers still got my head.
A must see, this place, better than major cities. It's in Sanyi. You can also buy wood sculptures here. |

I let your first thread go without comment because I thought you might not be aware of the primary purpose of this board - however I now find myself compelled to point out that this is NOT a tourist / travel / 'highlights of Taiwan' travel forum - it's a teacher's / threads related to teaching in Taiwan forum
Glad you're having fun and all, but your comments are more suited to a general Taiwan travel forum than Dave's ESL - believe it or not there's a reason it's called Dave's ESL not Dave's Travel Forum... |

But isn't this also a forum on "living in Taiwan" as well Yamukuh? I personally enjoyed both of the Macaroni's posts and didn't find his grammar that offensive. I am interested in what Taiwan is like, aside from teaching experiences. Why do Macaroni's posts cause you so much anger? |
