So, what exactly is different about teaching in HK? Do you have a communicative class? Can you make your own lessons? Is there a strict curriculum you must follow?

Do your kids do group work? Is memorization all HK kids care about? Have you wished that you could have more control over what is taught? Question

Wink how about secondary education then.

I've heard that HK classrooms are not student-centered. I was just curious how much freedom teachers have in comparison to the west

It varies hugely, depending on what type of secondary (government or international school) and other variables, like the school principal (principals wield huge power within their schools).

But generally, government schools are very inflexible and traditional, and involve a lot of rote learning nonsense. International schools and the top government schools tend to be more libertarian and allow the teacher much more scope.
