I'm looking to move to Vietnam to do a CELTA and start working some time within the next year, probably either this fall or spring 2012. Right now I'm living in New York City, but planning on moving to Hawaii for a bit before Vietnam. I would like to do the background check here in NYC, because knowing how the local police are where I'm from in Hawaii, they probably have no idea what they're doing, and if I need to go straight to some state office I don't want to have to get on a plane to fly to Honolulu. However, I'm worried that if I do it too far ahead of time, the background check won't be accepted once I get to Vietnam.
If anyone knows of an official policy, or has firsthand experience with not-quite-recent background checks, I'd appreciate any information.
(Also, does it make sense to get multiple official copies of this, or will I just need one?)
Thanks. |
