"Tough luck" for the "teacher" taking and working at an illegal job. |

Come on guys! The uni's as legal as it can get on mainland China.
Now, any letter i want/need from my current employer will apparently be given to me upon my departure, which means that i have to move out and hand my keys to the school. It seems a standard in some Guangzhou schools as another poster has had similar experiences here. However, one of my foreign colleagues has been living in a flat rented by himself and he also cannot get the letters (yet). |

China has changed.
Now, they think they hold the cards and are playing hardball with people.
I'm going home. No thanks.
Why do I need permission to get a different job?
Kiss my white ass China. |

No kidding. I blame myself for helping them use our language, when i was here in late 90s. And, the educational institutions in English speaking countries that accept Chinese mainlanders should kick their own arses as well. Many of these are also funded by the CPC party. They, well at least some of them, return "smarter" to play the hardball.
As for my Rec and Release letters, mine are being issued as i am posting here now. Well, i did have to check out according to the local standards. But who knows what my last employer has said, is saying, or will say, when called upon by my prospective employers in the country. To recommend an employee on a formal letter is one thing but then to provide his/her own view via phone call conversation (behind the employee's back) is another. |
