I was wondering if anyone has any experience living and working in this part of Shanghai. It seems a little bit far removed from the center (and action?).
Are there many restaurants, bars, and other forms of entertainment available here?
any info people might have would be very helpful to me.

Good luck with that. Nice place if you want to be a farmer and still live in "Shanghai". You can grow veggies! Even downtown SongJiang is pretty sleepy.
