So I've been placed at Kelapa Gading through Hendra and the EF Yus Group. They're actually even writing me a letter of acceptance and letting me get my KITAS here before I go if I want. That's kind of the exact opposite of what's expected, no?
So who can scoop me on Kelapa Gading? Yes, no, maybe? Good spot? Any and all tips are appreciated. |

In an odd twist of fate, the Consulate here says they don't do KITAS and to go in a tourist visa. ODD. |

Almost nobody gets a KITAS before they go. You enter on a tourist visa and then the school sends you to Singapore to get your KITAS processed before your tourist visa expires.
Kelapa Gading is a sort-of suburb of Jakarta. Lots of malls and plenty of restaurants. Traffic is bad, but not as bad as in the rest of the city. The nightlife isn't great, but it's cheap and easy to get to parts of the city where it is good. |
