I've just been offered a job with Aramco, direct hire and eye-wateringly good money for EFL. I'd be based in Ras Tanura. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has recent experience of the company or that particular location. Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi there. How did you find the job openings at Aramco? |

They were advertised in the TES (British newspaper for teachers) and on their website. |

Go for it. Working for Aramco is about as good as it gets in Saudi. There's a sizable expat community in Jubail, not far from Ras Tanura. And Khobar/Dhahran and then Bahrain are just down the road. |

Thanks Yrsammit but my question relates to whether Aramco is finally offering direct hire positions or not. Rumours of direct hire have been circulating for a long time but it was always just a carrot to attract people and rarely materialized. A few lucky people were transferred to direct hire now and again but it was the exception rather than the norm.
Recent posts here would lead one to believe direct hire is being offered to a lot, if not all, new hires and that is my question. Show me the evidence or please say if you know people coming as direct hire.
As regards it being the best by far in KSA, I'm not sure I'd agree on that.
The teaching materials in the ITCs, where most people end up, are not the most exciting. Holiday leaves are relatively short (36 days approx compared to BAe's 63), the working day is considerably longer, flight allowances are lower while the students are more or less the same. So, before people get carried away with the supposedly huge figures offered by Aramco, compared BAe and you'll find it offers probably a more attractive package. The only negative side to BAe is that they have fewer vacancies - they look for numbers in single digits, Aramco in double! |

ARAMCO contractors are still posting jobs. Check the listings here and on tefl dot com.

I haven't seen one post here from a confirmed direct hire related to the last flurry of interviews. Do we have one reading? Or one reading who has a friend who has lucked into direct hire and actually arrived to live in the posh Aramco compound?

They ARE hiring direct and offering spectacular contracts which include ARAMCO compound living. However, the checks are intensive and if your NOT in top health or pure as the driven snow, you'll get dropped from consideration.

I've been offered a direct hire with ARAMCO and am currently going through the health and background checks. I actually got an e-mail from them last week asking me to chase things up as they want to move on as quickly as possible.

Fingers crossed that they don't find something that they don't like. It is probably an advantage if you don't have too much ME experience.

I have also heard that ARAMCO (if it is for ARAMCO directly) are a great company to work for.....
Any figures in Saudi Riyals as to what the basic monthly salary is? |
