That's high but from this, do they charge you some monthly amount for housing on the compound? If so, how much approx? How many leaves / tickets a year?

My 3-bedroom villa would've cost me $5-600/mo. And, I think something like 36 days of leave a year, but they played around with the days (+ travel days) to make it 40 or so.

Yeah! Imagined how bummed I was. Also, consider this, with x ("x" meaning a few) years left before I turn 60, they had forcast me having a cool half mil in my company sponsored/organized savings plan.

I just wish that they'd started direct hiring a few years ago!

It's Scary,

That's amazing...$9000/month in TEFL! And tax free!

That's twice (or more) what anyone else is advertising, except BAE which, at their advertised 45K pounds, is still lower than ARAMCO.

What would you have had to do for that kind of money?????

Dear It's Scary,

And, in a world where grown men get paid tens of millions of dollars a year to play kids' games, should that salary be considered "excessive?"

Not by me Very Happy

John

Oh, I'd never say it's excessive, either. I'm just very happy to see that it's even possible considering what the others offer. I'm truly amazed.

Where else on the planet are you going to find anything close to this salary for TEFL? TEFLers in some parts of the world work very hard for a few hundred bucks a month (I'm referring to westerners).

I think ARAMCO's salary should be the standard for all TEFLers that have to live and work in the Tragic Kingdom.

I don't follow, John. Confused Where did I mention "excessive"? Shocked I did say that the checks were "intensive'.

I thought that maybe John was referring to my response to the salary revelation--that I might be implying such a salary was too high.

If so, then for the record I would never imply such regarding a KSA job.

Dear It's Scary and MEB,

Actually, I wasn't referring to either of you - thus, the question format.

" . . . should that salary be considered "excessive?" "

Perhaps the quotation marks (I wasn't quoting anyone - just being sarcastic, as is my wont) threw you off.

For the record, it's not high enough for some KSA "teaching jobs." (those darn quotations again.)

Money can be too expensive.

Regards,
John

Just thought that I would mention that there are a few other jobs paying that much. There are a couple universities in Hong Kong that I know were paying the equivalent to US$7000 plus a beautiful 4 bedroom flat overlooking the water plus all the other usual perks of the ME jobs... and that was during the 90s.

You need a high power CV to latch onto the jobs like this...
