Absolutely none. Nor does the American University in Beirut. Nor does the American University in Kuwait. Nor did the American University in Sharjah until after their management/organizational problems in the first couple years, they made a contract with AU in DC to do their hiring and departmental management. But that was (don't know if it still is) only for those issues, there were no academic connections with AU.

Consider me updated AND educated! It's just that they referred to all of those AUB professors that were kidnapped in the 80's as "on loan"...hence my conclusion that that's why I thought I understood why you had to have the notary in DC.

And the cert for my BA is from my current state - the back of beyond. But the State Department recommended that I do everything in DC as that way the whole process could be completed in two half days. (since I had a home in VA then)
